It's that time of year again. Its time to get out our shorts, slippah, and paddle and hit the wai (water). Thats right, it's time to start paddling again.
We hope to see all you members out there. For those of you that are not members, we hope that you come on out and give it a try.
Bring a hoaloha(friend), and/or bring your ohana(family) and come out and hangout with us.
WHO WE ARE
Ka hui hoe wa`a HA`AHEO, is a Hawaiian Culture and Outrigger Canoe Club created to preserve and perpetuate the Hawaiian culture for the Hawaiians who left Hawaii and Hawaiians at heart.
OUR GOAL
The purpose of Ka hui hoe wa’a Ha’aheo is to use our Hawaiian outrigger canoe as a tool To perpetuate the Hawaiian Culture which includes the language, dance, values and principles of our Hawaiian ancestors. Encouraging and promoting their Hawaiian lifestyle into ourselves and our Opio through cultural community awareness built on the foundation of health and fitness, sportsmanship, wholesome recreational activities, “family” gatherings and spreading the “Spirit Of Aloha”.

Preserve the mana`o (knowledge) o ka poe kahiko (ancient Hawaiians) to teach the Opio how to:
Aloha ‘āina (Love the Land):
That which provides substance – a gift to be respected, valued, and protected.
Respect for nature – understanding one’s self as part of the comunity.
Ho’o Lokahi (To be in unity, balance, and Harmony):
To be part of nature – always striving to be in a harmonious relationship with the world.
Malama (Caring):
Caring – for one another, the land the sea
Ho’o Mana’o (Be knowledgeable):
The most important Hawaiian principle – the core of achieving sustainability.
